 Pondicherry being the capital for Puducherry is adorned with many tourist attractions which gives pleasant experience of natural beauty and amalgamation of Indian and French Culture . Pondicherry experienes extreme coastal erosion, as the result of breakwaters constructed south of city. 9. Navagraha Temple:



History: This region once ruled by Chola Kingdom and hence temples here resemble chola architecture.

8. Panchavati Panchmukha Anjaneya Temple:




Locaton:Thire Vi ka Street, Villupuram. Tamil Nadu[605602].It is located 8 km from Pondicherry by Road.

Significance: Panchvati Panchamuka Anjaneya Temple is a marvellous place to visit in Pondicherry for its,32 feet tall Hanuma Is situated here is attraccts tourists from  all sides if the country. The people here believe that taking darshar/ visit this temples on saturdays is most auspicious.

7. Irumbai Shiva Temple:

Location:Auroville, Irumbai, Tamil Nadu 605111

History: This temples is predicted to be constructed in 7th Century, by King Kulothungan III  of Chola Dynatsy.

Significance: Lord shiva is worshipped here in the form of Mahakaaleshwar, one of the Devara Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalas. 6. Sri Gokilambal Thirukameswarer Temple:

Location: E-Car St, Villianur, Puducherry 605110

History: The temple was built by chala lingdom, whrn suffering with leprocy.

Significance: The prominence of this temple is that during the time of festival in may-June, the 15 meter Tall chariot was pulled out of temple. one can experience glimpse of the deity travelling in the chariout all round the city during festival. It is believed the one xan fullfill their wishes by pulling the chariot.


5. Vedhapureeswarar Temple: 

Location MG Road,adjacent to Varadharaja Perumal Temple pondicherry.

Histoyr: during 1748 this temple was demolished  and the reconstructed by in 1788 by Dubash Kandappa Mudaliar with public support. The Linga here is swayanbu linga mean self manifestated.

Significance: dedicatd to Lord shiva , this temple also known a Eashwaran Dharmaraj Koil. The is 75 feet tall and attracts craved statues of  deities on the wall of g gopuram.Inside there is temple for Lord Dakshinamurthy withih southerh side too.Lord Muruga in this temple was praised Sri ramalinga in his hyms.

Location : MG Road, Pondycherry

History: the temple constructed 800 years ago,iss originally built of Ram, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, Sita, Lord Lakshman, Lord Hanuman whose statues were brought via sea. 

Significance: This temple resides nearby Vedhapureeshwar temple and is managed by the same trust.Lord Narasimha statue situated behind the 5 feet tall lord vishnu Statur . The Glimpse of thee was enchanting., and everlasting.


 3. Sri Gokilambal Thirukameshwara Temple:

Location: Villianur

History: This temples is built during french invansion yet the we can obxerve indian temple architecture.

Significance: As this temple is built  under French Invansion , we can notice a little bit of frech hertage. Apart from that the temple has a chariot  of hright 15 mmeter . It is believed that pulling this chariot one can fullfill theor desires early.
